Our Adult and Pediatric Emergency Departments provide uninterrupted 24-hour service. Patients brought to our Emergency Department by 112 ambulance services are admitted directly to the Red or Yellow Area, without waiting, for the necessary examination and medical intervention according to the triage code determined by the ambulance staff.

Thanks to three separate entrance doors designated for adult patients, pediatric patients, and patients arriving by ambulance in emergency situations, pediatric patients are protected from the potential psychological impact of witnessing traumatic cases.

The initial assessment of every patient presenting to the Emergency Department on foot is performed by healthcare professionals in the triage area.

Following triage classification, patients are registered in the hospital automation system and directed to the appropriate area for examination.

When necessary, patients are transferred according to their triage classification, accompanied by healthcare professionals, using a hospital bed or wheelchair.

Following medical examination, 24-hour laboratory, X-ray, MRI, and computed tomography (CT) services are available for the necessary diagnostic tests.

EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT UNITS

TRIAGE

The triage unit is where all patients presenting to the Emergency Department are assessed for urgency by trained healthcare professionals and their vital signs are recorded. Patients are classified according to the applicable triage criteria and directed to the Yellow or Green Area as appropriate.

GREEN AREA

The Green Area is designated for patients whose vital signs are stable and who do not have a life-threatening medical condition. Examination and treatment are provided according to symptoms and clinical findings classified as Green under the Ministry of Health and international triage categories.

Our Emergency Department has two Green Area outpatient examination rooms. Following examination, patients may be referred to the Green Area Observation Room when deemed necessary by the physician.

The area includes three beds for injections and five reclining chairs for other procedures. Oxygen and vacuum systems are available at every bedside in the Green Area Observation Room.

YELLOW AREA

The Yellow Area is designated for patients classified as Yellow during triage who require further diagnostic evaluation but do not have a life-threatening condition. Treatment is provided according to symptoms and clinical findings classified as Yellow under the Ministry of Health and international triage categories.

Our Emergency Department has two Yellow Area outpatient examination rooms. Following examination, patients may be referred to the Yellow Area Observation Room when deemed necessary by the physician. In some cases, patients are admitted directly to the Yellow Area Observation Room, where the physician performs the examination.

The area has 10 beds for patient observation and monitoring, as well as three reclining chairs for other procedures. Oxygen and vacuum systems are available at every bedside in the Yellow Area Observation Room.

RED AREA (EMERGENCY CPR ROOM)

The Red Area is designated for patients who are unstable, have a life-threatening condition, or are at immediate risk of death without urgent medical intervention. Examination and treatment are provided according to symptoms and clinical findings classified as Red under the Ministry of Health and international triage categories.

Oxygen and vacuum systems are available at every bedside in the Red and Critical Care Areas.

One entrance to the Red Area is designated for ambulance access, while the other opens directly into the Critical Care Area. The Red Area has two beds and is continuously prepared for emergency intervention with fully equipped personnel and medical equipment.

For patients requiring close monitoring, the Critical Care Area has six beds.

SURGICAL PROCEDURE ROOM

This unit provides medical care for patients presenting to the Emergency Department due to trauma or injury who, following physician examination, require procedures such as casting, splinting, or suturing.

PEDIATRIC EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT

The Pediatric Emergency Department is exclusively dedicated to pediatric patients. It includes a triage area, patient admission unit, two outpatient examination rooms, a 10-bed observation and monitoring area, and a nebulization room for children requiring inhalation therapy.

The nebulization room has three reclining chairs for treatment.

EMERGENCY LABORATORY

Blood and urine samples collected in the Emergency Department are delivered to the laboratory by Emergency Department staff. Emergency laboratory tests are processed within the turnaround times specified in the Test Turnaround Times Information Brochure.

The results of laboratory tests requested in the Emergency Department can also be viewed by patients and their relatives on the result-monitoring screen located in the waiting area.

EMERGENCY X-RAY

The Emergency X-Ray Unit provides radiographic imaging services for patients presenting to the Emergency Department.

When additional imaging services such as MRI or computed tomography (CT) are required, patients in stable general condition are escorted to the Radiology Department by patient transport staff, accompanied by a relative when appropriate.

Patients whose condition is unstable are transferred to the Radiology Department by bed or wheelchair, accompanied by patient transport staff and healthcare professionals.
